Beauty Of The Cross

Lately, I've really ben enjoying readin the Amplified Bible, especially when it comes to some of my favorite verses. It gives more clarity and adds depth of understanding to God's word.

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. 2 Corinthians 5:21 New King James Version

For our sake He made Christ [virtually] to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might become [endued with, viewed as being in, and examples of] the righteousness of God [what we ought to be, approved and acceptable and in right relationship with Him, by His goodness]. 2 Corinthians 5:21 Amplified

Do you see that? We are in Christ; we are examples of God's goodness here on earth. We are made into right relationship with our Maker by the willfull sacrifice of our Lord and Savior. That is just so incredible. And it's not because of anything we've done, but by everything He has done.

And that is the beauty of the cross.

But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:4-10 Amplified
